Dr. Arun T. Subramanian
Dr. Subramanian received his B.S. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry. He completed externships at the New Mexico Veterans Affairs Health Care System in Albuquerque, New Mexico and the Barnet Dulaney Perkins Eye Center in Mesa, Arizona. Dr. Subramanian completed a hospital-based residency emphasizing ocular disease at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salisbury, NC.
He has received certification in the specialty of medical optometry by the American Board of Certification in Medical Optometry. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a member of the American Optometric Association and the North Carolina Optometric Society. Dr. Subramanian is President of the Winston-Salem District Optometric Society and a member of the North Carolina State Optometric Society Executive Council.
Dr. Subramanian specializes in providing care for those with chronic eye disease such as diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye syndrome and acute conditions such as iritis, conjunctivitis, eye injuries, and "red eyes". He also specializes in advanced contact lens fittings.
